Another NLP
Presupposition Sjoerd Eisma
Here is another powerful example of
an NLP presupposition.
If you have missed the previous tip with an
explanation of presuppositions, first go and read
the first information about Presuppositions here.
"People Will Normally Make The Best
Choice
Available To Them In Any Given
Situation"
This means that people will
make what seems to be the best choice out of whatever
choices are available, even though this may not be the
ideal 'best' from an external point of view.
To put it another way, few people ever deliberately, knowingly
make a 'bad' choice.
If your prospect decides to choose a product
from the competition or not to buy your product (yet),
your only choice is to change the situation. Otherwise
she has no other option than to go for
her best choice available which is not your product.
Is it possible to change that
situation? Of course! Always
ask questions.
For
example:
"What do you want
me to change to give you a better option - which my
product clearly is...." or anything you can think of to
re-open the conversation...
The more you know about these powerful
presuppositions, the better you'll understand the psychology of
people and why they behave like they
behave.
