Neuro-Linguistic
Programming is the study of human
excellence. In the early 1970's Richard Bandler, a Mathematician and a Computer
Programmer and John Grindler a Linguist, studied the
methods adopted by three leading psychotherapists who were
outstanding in their field consistently.
1. Dr Milton H Erickson the greatest hypnotherapist of all
times.
2. Virginia Satir the outstanding family therapist and
3. Fritz Perls founder of Gestalt therapy
They helped people to change their attitude and
behaviour.
Their success greatly influenced by Richard Bandler and
John Grinder. The methods they developed by learning from these
great people have since been applied in all fields,-business,
sports, Sales and personal development. In turn Richard Bandler
and John Grinder have influenced hunreds of thousands, if not
millions of people all over the world with their NLP building
blocks which are still actively used today.

Four Principles of
Success
1. Know your outcome
What do you want to do in life? What results you want
to achieve?
Write your goals on a piece of paper. Dream lofty dreams
and so shall you become. George Bernard Shaw once said, "
People dream dreams and ask why, I dream dreams and ask why
not. Dreamers are the saviours of the world".
Tell everybody you know what you are going to
achieve.
Some examples of achievements:
Eg. 1. I am going to stop procrastinating.
2. I am
going to buy a million dollar yacht
3. I am going to
write a book
4. I am going to
change a behaviour
It can be anything. Once you have clearly stated (written down)
what you want give your goals sufficient time.
Be realistic.
2. Take Action
You should have a purpose why you want to achieve your
goals. Then write down your plans: how am I going to
achieve my goals. Have a burning desire with passion,
determination and be persistent. Give everything you have.
Don't give up; keep going for your goal.
3. Check your results
Start noticing your result. See whether your actions
are bringing you nearer to achieve your outcome.
Get feedback to show where you are in your plan to reach
your goal.
4. Be Flexible
Be ready to change. If something doesn't work change
it. Do something different. Use your creative
imagination. Have a role model. Read Biographies and
Autobiographies of great people. See what made them so
popular. Follow their steps, at first it is going to be
hard, be persistent and the rest is following
automatically.
5. Apply these principles to your
Sales Goals
These steps are exactly what you need to do with your
sales goals too:
- Know your outcome: How much do you want to sell in
3 years, in two years in 1 year.
- Take action now: which action do you need to take
today to make sure you meet your target for the first
year?
- Check your results: Notice your results all the time to
know where you are and get feedback
- Be flexible: change your methods if you do not get
close enough to your outcome every month or quarter
- Define new, higher targets and apply steps 1-4
again!
